EtsyMetal, my favorite group of friends, has gotten together and we are doing a charm swap - and these are my charms! We will also be selling one of the bracelets to a lucky etsy shopper - who wouldn't want a gorgeous charm bracelet with 15+ charms from their favorite etsy metalsmiths!? So be on the look out over the next couple of weeks in the etsymetal shop for the fantastic bracelet!

I'm personally turning mine in to a charm necklace as I would wear it more, and I'm super excited to have something so special from many of my talented and dear friends.

Got them all finished and appropriately put together! some ended up as earrings, but most as pendants. i made a new lotus stamp last time i cast and finally got to try it out and see how they positive stamped waxes looked! I love love love how they turned out! I made it to match my lotus screenprint that I had done, just did a miniature version in wax for stamping purposes. I need to maybe do some stamps in bronze or something as making the stamp in sterling seems kinda like a waste! A valuable stamp for sure!!

I also did a couple of new grass pendants. the vertical one is oh so delicious - I really am excited about that one and found a use for a tool I had in making the top little bits on the grasses - now they are a bit more like wheat or borderline cattails which I love.

The little tree bark pendant - simple and lovely texture w/ a surprise leave on the back for the bale - almost like the back as much as the front and you could of course wear it either direction.

More oms of course and in the back some dandelion wishes earrings to match the rings and pendants!

Slowly I'll get them added to my etsy shops - the oms and most of the lotuses will be in my yoga shop and the others will be headed to my all jewelry shop. Probably a lotus or two will make it in that shop also!

Look at all those little crusty bits - investment caked tiny shinies, all waiting to be cleaned up and shown off to the world! There are some new things in there that no one else has seen yet! what are they you ask?! well, you will just have to wait and find out! But I am very excited about them - back to work!

I was really super excited to finally find a use for this old silverware box! I'd been wanting something for my files that would keep them separated and enclosed (away from rust causing southern humidity) - and then it hit me!! it is perfect - including the slots at the top for the smaller half round files! just like a knife!

and iI could be wrong, but i think the fabric that is in these boxes usually has a little anti tarnish something in them to keep silverware looking shiny.... not that files would tarnish... but hey, couldn't hurt right?!

I am so excited to hit the big 500! wooohooo!!!

Thanks to everyone how has contributed to that big goal - onwards to 1000 now! I'd love to get that by the end of the year, lofty goal, but I like to aim high!

I also particularly love that I made it today on the big tax day. Makes me feel excited and happy about something and ignore the big check I just sent to the IRS!

This lovely ring is similar to one I made a few years ago. I've been planning on trying to remake one for awhile and finally got around to it - and I have to say it turned out even better than the first one! I'm planning on making a thicker male version and then offering them as custom wedding bands. So I've been thinking about different names and have gotten lots of great advice from friends. I'm leaning towards "A journey to love".

It is fused Argentium sterling silver and 14k gold. When the patina is added to the silver it makes the gold pop out even more -it is like a thin vein running around the entire ring, also like a road, path etc... hence the journey. Aren't we all on a journey anyway? And I think marriage is a lovely way to share it.

Though I'm not really big in to mold making - they definitely have their place in the jewelry making world. My idea of what the set up should be seemed unattainable and insanely expensive. And then Chris Parry, a fellow EtsyMetal-er came to the rescue!! He gives an excellent tutorial on an easy DIY mold making process. Fun and inexpensive tips like using a syringe as a wax injector! My new wedding band design!

I really love the tree bark set, but I wanted to come up with a new design. Most of my wax work is nature themed so I knew that I wanted to come up with a design that was somehow inspired by my backyard! I wandered around for awhile and collected a few different things. I played around with some eucalyptus leaves - which smell so wonderful and some lavender, which I also love the smell of. I felt they were both a bit too "normal" and i really wanted something unique. I really liked the idea of the dandelion seeds, but wondered if it would be a little to cliche. The texture came out great without saying "hi I'm a dandelion" The subtle texture is nice and organic, but not overly obvious. Each ring is a little different as working with the delicate fluffs is a little unpredictable and surprisingly, they are all different lengths! Who knew?!
