Change the name? Please vote and win a gift certificate!

Please help me out by voting in the poll on the right! I've never totally 'loved' (ha!) the name of these rings. When I first came up with the design, they were called "reclaimed" rings (a ring that used to look different that I was hammering and changing) But I thought people might not like that idea for their wedding ring, that and well, it wouldn't really be reclaimed b/c it would be made from new stock (though it is 100% recycled metal)

So please post your idea for a new name, or if you like the name as it is, that is fine too!

For a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to my etsy shop, please do the following:

1. Vote!
2. Leave a comment - that you voted, give me a new name or just say something funny.
3. Follow my blog (this is optional... but it would make me happy!)

Your chance to win will be over at midnight on the Monday 4th - so you have almost a full week to think of a new name. Each person that comments will be entered to win! Oh and the gift certificate will also include free first class shipping. Also, if you aren't necessarily interested in winning (who doesn't want to win?!) you can still just leave me a comment if you have a good idea!

The winner will be chosen by random. I will announce the winner on Tuesday morning!

Thanks for your help!!

My sweet friend over at Down and Out Chic asked me if I was interested in doing a promotion on her blog and I said "Yes!" Though I'm not much of a daily blog reader - I do read hers every day! Not only is she an amazing person, but she has great taste. I love seeing what she has found that is unique, gorgeous and affordable!

So anyway, go check out her blog and participate in the promotion to win this pair of earrings! Ends 4/21.

They are going to make perfect 'knots' in my love knot rings! I am actually casting one today that has 4 diamonds in it, and am very anxious to see how it turns out.

I am so excited to combine them with my 100% recycled metal and be able to create a more eco-conscious product.

My new meditation cushion....

I love it. I did have to take out more than a pound of the buckwheat hulls... there were just far too many in there for me. So now that I have extra, I might end up commissioning some sewing inclined person to make me a little half 'travel' cushion. When I have time that is....

I was so pleased to have a customer find me and ask me to do these for her. Her ring was too wide and too small and she simply couldn't wear it anymore, but wanted to keep the ring and the sentimental value that was connected to it.

It was perfect because she needed it sized up just the right amount, the ring was plenty thick enough and wide enough. And it was incredibly fun to do!

So if anyone has a ring they need to be made larger and want it to be hammered on - send it my way! :)

Heavy Metal in Baghdad - the music kind of metal....

I watched this movie a couple weeks ago - and knew that I wanted to make sure to tell people about it. Regardless of your music preference (and I have to be honest that heavy metal isn't one of my favorites), I would recommend this movie to everyone. I'm kind of at a loss of words to really say what is was about. It was incredibly moving and gave a much different view of Iraq than the one the general media has given. A couple years have passed since the movie was released and I was left feeling quite heartbroken at the end. But when I went to the website I was glad to see happy news of what has become of the band. Here's the website, though I would say, watch the movie first, then go check out the site.

What I'm Listening to: The National

Sometimes you hear an album and you just love all of it, get a 2nd one and love all of it too. It doesn't happen often that I can't find one song I like more than another because I love them all! Thats how I feel about The National.
