There were so many and I really do love them, I didn't know why I hadn't thought of it before!

organic vine earrings - teardrop

I've been working on expanding the organic vine series, and these are yet another direction. I've been having fun trying out different shapes and seeing a new form and look take shape. The teardrop shape seems to really suit the style. Check them out on Etsy!

Palladium Tree Bark Rings - commission

I finished up a recent commission of some palladium bands. Since casting palladium is like platinum it requires special molds and investment and more heat - all of which aren't possible in my studio - so I had to have someone else cast them for me. I made the wax just like all of my other tree bark rings and sent them off to Hoover and Strong and just got them back! They looked lovely, but I still needed to add the final polish to them and finish them off. Every time I work with a new metal, I am reminded about how much I love metal! Its incredibly fascinating to think of all the different types of metals and the different properties each of them have. I get excited to work on something new and am delighted with how these turned out.

I knew I'd been needing to make some more of the dandelion pendants. But I am always amazed at how quickly they sell! This little guy sold in a day!! I've got two more that are the more random pattern that I have yet to photograph - guess I better get them done and listed!

Reclaimed - Men's

Reclaimed - mens

Slowly I'm working on trying to come up with "manly" rings. It difficult because none of the men in my life wear rings, or jewelry at all for that matter! But this ring - I think is quite manly. Its tough and rugged and already has the signs of a well worn ring, except that it never has been worn!

It is part of my new "Reclaimed" series in that it used to look completely different, but has been turned in to something completely new. It has been hammered with three different hammers, all that leave a distinctive mark, but together, they create a wonderful natural and rock like texture. At some point I'll start creating some pieces from scratch with this same texture, but I really like the idea of taking a previous ring and making it look totally different.

EtsyMetal Canvas Tote

EtsyMetal Canvas Tote
Originally uploaded by bcyrjewelry
I had gotten these lovely canvas totes months ago and finally finally got around to get them screenprinted and photographed. I think they turned out great and just love them.
This one was done for the EtsyMetal shop - all the proceeds to towards EtsyMetal and our financial needs. I screen printed some w/ just the anvil that I will be selling in my shop as well. But as to when I will get them photographed and listed - that is a whole other story - who knows! I enjoy doing lots of different things, but sometimes its a bit much. And I have customers waiting for jewelry items, so they come first on the list. But keep an eye out for them! They are pretty special.

Gold Tree Bark Rings with patina

All finished and with the patina!!! I love them. And more importantly, so does Sarah and her soon to be husband!

I used to not like gold very much. That was, before I actually worked with it. Gold is so lovely to work with it, I jump at any chance I have to use it! It is just so warm and lovely and seems to have a depth to it that sterling doesn't have. Maybe its just that I look at sterling all the time. But I think gold is something special. And these rings, they are something special also!

Awesome Handpiece

new handpiece!!!!!!!
Originally uploaded by bcyrjewelry

I was really excited to get it, but after using it a few days, my excitement kind of faded and I was wondering if it really had been worth it. Now, after using it alot, I can definitely say it was worth it! I had to use the old one (big guy in the back) for a larger shank bit I needed to use and it felt so big and clunky. I have tiny hands so the smaller pieces is much kinder on my hands - and the quick change is divine. Oh how I do not miss having to use the pin and wrench to open up the other one!

The new one: Foredom 18 quick change handpiece
Highly Recommended!!
