Change the name? Please vote and win a gift certificate!

Please help me out by voting in the poll on the right! I've never totally 'loved' (ha!) the name of these rings. When I first came up with the design, they were called "reclaimed" rings (a ring that used to look different that I was hammering and changing) But I thought people might not like that idea for their wedding ring, that and well, it wouldn't really be reclaimed b/c it would be made from new stock (though it is 100% recycled metal)

So please post your idea for a new name, or if you like the name as it is, that is fine too!

For a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to my etsy shop, please do the following:

1. Vote!
2. Leave a comment - that you voted, give me a new name or just say something funny.
3. Follow my blog (this is optional... but it would make me happy!)

Your chance to win will be over at midnight on the Monday 4th - so you have almost a full week to think of a new name. Each person that comments will be entered to win! Oh and the gift certificate will also include free first class shipping. Also, if you aren't necessarily interested in winning (who doesn't want to win?!) you can still just leave me a comment if you have a good idea!

The winner will be chosen by random. I will announce the winner on Tuesday morning!

Thanks for your help!!

I voted. You could name them, "Grow Old With Me rings". Too long?

I voted and featured this article on my blog (http://craftboombang.blogspot.com/). I like "Love Rocks" and I think it conveys that they have a rustic look. Either way, they're gorgeous! :)

they look like something that has withstood, been shaped by, and made more beautiful by a lot of hammering, which is an excellent metaphor to start marriage with ;)
"unbroken"

Thanks everyone for your input so far!

i kind of like the name... as it kind of has a double meaning - as in look kind of like a rock texture - and for those of us that grew up in the 80's and 90's the saying "that rocks!" is the other meaning... sigh. and it feels so but maybe its just in my head? so far the 'leave it be' vote is winning! :)

keep the comments coming!

oh and sophie - to me, that is the feeling behind them. most relationships go through a lot (especially if they get to the marriage stage), hammered and textured, but still beautiful and lasting!!

initially I had thought 'rock of love' but if you ever searched for it, all you would find would be about Bret Michaels! ha! I want MY rings to show up when you search for them, not a vh1 tv show...
then again, the current name doesn't show up either!

i vote for keeping "love rocks" too!

I voted! I really like the name "unbroken" or maybe "weathered together"

I don't like "Love Rocks" because jewelry and rocks = diamonds.

How about "simplicity" or "simple things" rings - yep, they're awful!

I love the name 'Weather Any Storm' since that is what a good marriage does...like those rings did while you hammered them. They are beautiful, BTW!!!

I LOVE the name "love rocks" - I think it's descriptive and unique and love clearly does rock. But I'll throw this out there: "heavenly hammered" (which makes me laugh because it sortof reminds me of being drunk in college). I like their current name. Hahaha!

(and that's how I voted.) I'll be posting this on my blog fyi...this is awesome!

Hey! I voted! and I'm following you - even though your only the second blog I've followed (you and Etsy Metal.) I'm beginning to like following more, I guess..it just takes me a while to get used to change! lol! But if I keep going like that, I'd hate to see myself when I'm old. Ha!
But even though I'm trying to like change - I don't think you should change the name of the rings from "Love Rocks." I love that name. It rocks.

I voted! I'm no good with names but "love rocks" is kinda hip and makes me think of things temporary. I wonder if there is something that will suggest the eternal? Timeless? Permanent? :D

Hi, Beth! I voted "maybe" because I don't think "Love Rocks" is a bad name, but there's always room to go in another direction.

I like the previous suggestions of "Weathered" and "Unbroken". This ring brings to mind a marriage of elements; it has qualities that are metallic, liquid, stone and even a hint of heat or fire is brought to mind by the hammered look, which makes me think of a forge (although I don't know whether your method uses heat at all!). The palladium (?) set with the patina applied even makes me think of the moon!

Maybe someone who is better at thinking up names can take this train of thought somewhere, the only concise name I can think of along these lines is "Marriage of Elements". But I'm sure whatever the name of the ring, it won't diminish the quality of your work!

Hm...how about "Enduring Love"?

I voted to change the name. I love that the facets remind me of a mosaic or kaleidoscope, so that is what my suggestion is going to be: Kaleidoscope. Also because its the kind of ring that you no matter which way you turn it, it's entirely unique and beautiful each time!
